Have you ever heard music that just made your ole heart flutter, your soul quiver and your jaw drop? If you have never felt that kind of reaction from music before then what are you waiting for…..go listen to Jerry Henry Band CD ‘Rockin’ the Blues’ right this minute. WARNING: you are in for a HOT WILD blues ride of all time. And if you have experienced those feelings before, well then you need to go take a listen also, cause all those others will not compare to The Jerry Henry Band.

Right off the top, I am going to say that there is not one song that isn’t of top quality, not one note or lick out of place, no instrument walking over the other. I guess what I’m saying is, this is the hottest blues I have heard. Excellent songwriting, talent and musicianship pouring out of each band member, along with that excellent production and engineering of this cd project.

JERRY HENRY BAND Rockin' the BluesAnd what makes this CD so hot? Well there is three (3) factors involved here and they are: Jerry Henry ~ guitars, vocals, keyboards and percussion……Eric Magayne ~ bass and vocals…. Don Lincoln ~ drums. These three musicians has brought this cd project together that demonstrates the love of their music, the caliber of their talents and in the end ‘Rockin’ the Blues’ has become a masterpiece like a fine fine painting. And along with that lets hand out a few more credits: Recorded at: Clockwork Studio, Eagle River, WI…..Produced and Engineered by: Jerry Henry…..Mastered at: Campfield Recorders, Wausau, WI…..Cover Photos: Heidi Magayne and Bruce Oberlander…..Cover design: Jerry Henry…..CD design: Eric Magayne…...Design consultant: Mary Jo Walker, Writing Design, Oshkosh, WI.

Usually I pick out a few tunes that grab my attention quicker than others, but to be honest, every single song jumps out grabs you by the throat. And also plays with your heart and soul. I had intentions of not listing some fav’s but I just can’t do that. So here goes: First off the top of this fantastic CD is ‘Rockin’ the Blues’ ~ excellent track 1 tune, that totally kicks out the blues……’This Guitar’ ~ another blues rocker that shows off the musicianship of all, the lead is a killer, JH knows his stuff…..'Roadhouse King' ~ hang on for the ride of these musicians. Hold tight!!!!......'Closing Time Blues' ~ something to grab ya by the heart and soul, the instruments just sing to your heart.

Before closing this review I need to breakdown these musicians a bit: Jerry Henry is definitely a SRV in spirit. His guitarship is superb and each note, lick this axeman plays is felt to bone. Any listener will experience chills all over and a heartfelt warming just from his musicianship. And his raspy blues vocals will finish off the job. My kind of music, my kind of playing and my kind of vocals….. Eric Magayne is the king of groove; he lays down all the hot bass sounds and just keeps on keeps on. Excellent bass musician. And no one can walk a bass like Eric…..Don Lincoln comes in with the drums, which he delivers strong beats. This drummer is obviously the best. Put together Eric and Don for the rhythm section and you end up with two magnificent players that is the heartbeat of this group that delivers together the in-the-pocket grooves, notes/licks, beats each and every time.

BOTTOM LINE:  Highest Caliber of Talent…..Musicianship that doesn’t get any better…..Vocals to capture your heart and soul……messages in each song that can be identified by someone - somewhere at anytime….Make sure to visit The Jerry Henry Band Website at: http://www.JERRYHENRYBAND.com, make the best purchase you will make this year, purchase the ‘Rockin’ the Blues’ CD.
