Crazy Fingers
CD - 'It's a Strange Life' by Mary Rudy
|
Every CD player that exists needs to have this CD on it.
Crazy Fingers has what it takes to get the
attentions of not only the listeners of their music but this group has
that label company 'Star Studded' status that the label company looks for.
I was completely taken away by the music of Crazy Fingers - the
music isn't just words screaming in your ear, each song has an important
message behind it and along with that you can relate to each song. And
that my friends is extremely unusual. Most of the time you can find one
song on a CD to relate to, BUT, on their 'It's a Strange
Life' CD you will relate to each and every song of Crazy
Fingers. For instance, in my opinion, the two songs with the strongest
messages is 'Waiting to Believe' and the other I believe
every person, every politician, every country should hear 'The Bomb
Song', very powerful both songs.
Now is the time to introduce to you and the music industry to the group of
musicians that possesses the excellent musicianship that qualified them to
do a CD project like 'It's a Strange Life', and they are: Corey Dwyer
- lead guitar/vocals/keyboards.....Rich Friedman - lead
guitar/backup vocals.....Bubba Newton - bass guitar.....Pete
Lavezzoli - drums/backup vocals.....Josh Foster - keyboards..
OK, lets get to the musicianship of this project. I can not say enough of
the rhythm section of this group. Pete Lavezzoli (drums) and
Bubba Newton (bass), bring to Crazy Fingers the absolute
spectacular solid in-the-pocket, crisp n' clear sounds of their
instruments. I'm sold that Pete and Bubba are the best around, their
breaks are tremendously clean. A-1 job guys!!
The keyboards are superb, very tastefully done and another Crazy Finger
instrument that will send chills down your spine. Corey Dwyer
and Josh Foster are the masters of the keyboards. Again, the
keys are crisp-clear and every note, every tone can be heard beautifully.
Nothing like keyboard action like the Corey and Josh way. Love it!!!
The backup vocals are sooo good! They are right on key and the vocals of
Corey Dwyer-Pete Lavezzoli-Rich Friedman only compliment
each others tones. Rich Friedman sung lead vocals on 'It's a
Strange Life' and Pete Lavezzoli sung lead vocals on 'Casting
Shadows' and 'Gypsy Wind', These two did a superb job. Magnificent!
The lead vocals belong to Corey Dwyer, of which are totally
awesome. Carrying vocal ranges at both ends of the spectrum. Corey is more
than capable of reaching those highs or lows with plenty to spare. When it
comes to vocals there are certain factors that catch my attention real
fast, one is growling vocals, especially when that singers
voice doesn't weaken or give out and the other is their vocal
sustaining power. And Corey Dwyer definitely has these qualities
and uses them very professionally.
Lets talk about the HOT drippin' wet lead guitars of Corey
Dwyer and Rick Friedman. These two are absolutely
the best. Each note, each lick , each lead will chill you to the bone. You
will get caught up in the tones and riffs of these two 'well oiled
axe-tion machines'. They will capture your heart and soul with their leads
and take you on the ride of your life.
Even though each song is over 5+ minutes long, it was the most exciting
and eclectrifying 54:52 minutes I have spent in a long time. Every thing
is in the right places which makes it pleasing to the listener. Extremely
HOT leads and my oh my what superb endings to each song and guess what
folks? the endings are all different.........And the material is extremely
well written, and put all this together and what do you have? you have one
heck of an CD that should and deserves to be at the top of every chart and
on every radio station.
